Graduate in Law, with Specialization in EU Law, from the Universidad S. Pablo CEU of Madrid, holds an LLM in European Union Law, specialization in Business Law, from the Institut d’Etudes Européens, Université Libre de Bruxelles. Both Complemented by the Advanced Community Law Training Programme of the College of Europe (Brugge).

Sound knowledge of EU and International law gained thanks to her experience in the European Parliament and the European Commission.  Taking part in the follow up and negotiations of financial and legislative issues related, inter alia, with: IP, internal market, competition law, external relations, industry and energy. She also gave legal and financial advice on projects related to EU Programmes.

In addition to Community Law, Sandra advises in international arbitration.

Sandra is an associate in B.CREMADES Y ASOCIADOS. She joined the firm in September 2010. Before joining the firm Sandra worked in the European Parliament and in the European Commission. 

Her practice focuses on EU law, and International Arbitration, covering Commercial arbitration, investment protection and other specialist areas. 

Professional experience

Sandra is an EU law and an international arbitration specialist in B. CREMADES. She joined the firm as counsel in 2010.

Sandra represents clients in international commercial arbitration and investment protection disputes. She also acts as secretary to arbitral tribunals. Sandra has participated in a number of international proceedings, under the rules of different international arbitration institutions, mainly the ICC and the ICSID. 

Sandra’s experience has focused on protection of foreign investment and commercial arbitration in different sectors; inter alia, engineering, public works, oil and gas and agency.

At B. CREMADES Sandra also gives advice on different aspects of EU law, mainly on competition law, external trade, and energy related issues.

Prior to joining B. CREMADES, Sandra Cajal worked within the EU Institutions. Sandra worked as an advisor for the European Commission’s External Relations Directorate General and within the European Parliament Internal Politics Directorate General. 

During her professional experience at the European Commission Sandra has given advice on projects based in EU Programmes and on the preparation and review of the EU External Action Regulations. At the European Parliament Sandra has monitored financial and legal aspects of legislative procedures, inter alia, in internal market and external relations. Sandra has also assisted the European Parliament delegation on legislative and financial negotiations with the European Commission and the Council of Ministers.
